Hi, Peter,

The article is in the Astrophysical Journal Letters known in the trade as
Ap. J. Letters.  This is a top-line journal for hot new discoveries in
astronomy and the article you cite is by the entire LIGO collaboration.
Three of the 1255 (count them) authors on the letter won the 2017 Nobel
Prize in physics for their work in creating LIGO (Laser Interferometer
Gravitational Observatory).  They try hard not to be wrong; you can rely on
what they say.
