I too had a glow-in-the-dark watch and recall at least one time when a shoe store used a fluoroscope on me. So far, I haven’t experienced any ill effects.

I also purchased some asbestos as a young teenager, that I cut to line a wooden box in which I had created an electric arc. So far, I’ve survived that, too. I also did home chemistry experiments with sulfuric acid I purchased.

Kids are much more protected today, sometimes too much, but I wouldn’t go back to the old days.

As a kid I had a watch that glowed in the dark with radium on the dial

Then when I went in for shoes I used a fluoroscope https://www.orau.org/ptp/collection/shoefittingfluor/shoe.htm

These started being banned in 1957

I think I had the uranium kit

Kids could experiment with uranium back in the 1950's:

There is no more fun today due to toy safety concerns.
