 In case you don't get out to Natick, can you test the cable on a PC to monitor setup, or any display other than the the TV? 
Also, cable testers (to test all pins and wires for continuity) are available fairly cheaply:https://www.amazon.com/Parts-Express-Cable-Signal-Tester/dp/B005WU9FNG

Probably not something you'd buy for a one-off but if it were me, I have lots of HDMI cables, so it would be a good investment.

My current HDMI  cable has intermittent problems and I don’t know if it is the cable or the TV
