It's even worse than that. 
Now kids are learning with fruit baskets drawn above some sort of block diagrams, and only below that do they actually use math numbers and operators. But instead of equations, these are called "math sentences". If they get all of that right, they get an "Exit Ticket". (I should have bookmarked the Yahoo News clip about the "viral" Twitter thread showing a really awful example.)
Many parents are wishing they could get an "exit ticket" from being surrogate teachers!
In remote learning there are no bad teachers -- only bad workbooks.
