Gerard R. Patrick (Gerry), a 43-year resident of Lexington, MA died on May
7, 2021. He was 79.

Gerry grew up in Winchester and attended Belmont Hill School. He earned his
bachelor's degree at Amherst College and then continued his education at
Tufts University where he graduated with a master's degree in electrical
engineering. He went on to have a rewarding career in medical devices, first
with Hewlett-Packard Company, then with Agilent Technologies, and finally
with Philips Electronics. Throughout his career he designed cardiac
monitoring equipment and along with two colleagues was awarded a patent for
a signal rate converter.

Upon retirement he became active in the computer and technology group at the
Lexington Senior Center. He also chaired the landscape committee at the
condominium community where he lived. Gerry was a lover of classical music
and enjoyed attending concerts in the Boston area. He enjoyed spending time
with family, especially hiking in New Hampshire with his children.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sally Patrick, by his daughter
Amanda Patrick and her husband Joseph Stein, and by his son Owen Patrick and
his wife Christina. He is also survived by his four grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date to celebrate Gerry's
life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Boston Symphony
Orchestra (301 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA 02115) or an organization
that supports classical music in your community.
