 In the over 2,000 years since they were named, the constellations have changed their apparent geometry, as seen for Earth. Even so, they were never exact representations of the people and animals whose names they acquired. 
Also, they no longer correspond to their original calendar periods. The shift has been about a month in the time since the Zodiac was invented and named. And there's actually a thirteenth sign, to complete a full solar year.
