[Lex Computer & Tech Group/LCTG] my laptop is no longer recognizing the keystrokes from the keyboard

I rebooted.  

I took the monitor off the keyboard and reconnected

I can put a "keyboard" onto the monitor but it is a major pain.

 

This happened once before and after maybe 4 hours it resolved itself.

Any ideas?
