Yes, Drew. And Paypal also has such authentication options. Most online services except some FinTech Apps which shall remain nameless, have good security options.

I have one suggestion.
Amazon supports 2-factor authentication. I suggest everyone turn it on.
I have it configured to use the Google Authenticator app on my Android phone. I'm sure there is something comparable on the iPhone. Apple may have one in their app store.
This article covers using an authenticator app.

I agree that this is a phishing message. If you can still login to your Amazon account then that is your proof that it is.

That’s a common phishing text that I receive a few times a week. Hit delete and safely ignore.

I just received the following text Message (italics added to set it off from what I’m writing.
Notification : 24567
We've must disabled your αmazon αccount, due to unusual activity from your αccount.

I’d ignore this, except that I recently placed an order with Amazon (not yet delivered). If this were an email, I’d check out the sender’s address, but don’t know how to do the equivalent with a Message.
The bad grammar might be a clue, but bad spelling and grammar are rife in American education.
.
Ideas and suggestions?
