Freeze the apples in Liquid Helium -- at that temperature
biological activity is suspended and simple chemical activity is severely
reduced

by the way -- apple repulsion is a short range force -- similar to the
inverse of the "strong nuclear force" -- otherwise there would be huge
disturbances among doctors whenever a large shipment of apples passed
"reasonably close"
For example there is a relatively recently established "Hard Cider"
producer in Boston known as Down East [by the way I highly recommend their
products] -- yet there is minimal evidence that the number of doctors in
Boston changed substantially since it was established

On-the-otherhand as the economists say -- the HQ for Mass Gen Brigham
[mostly filled with paper shufflers] -- ahs moved to Somerville [Assembly]

So who knows == perhaps apples actually repel money associated with doctors
