 Fascinating new synthesis. 
As a degreed chemist, I can appreciate the different allotropes and distinguish these from potential isomers. The electrical prpoperties of graphyne still need to be further investigated, but this material shows some promise. 
If we're going to have a presenter talk to us about graphene, graphyne might be something to ask them about.
