For those who might be interested in my comment about the error in
reckoning the energy budget in cold fusion, here is a brief note on the
subject that I wrote up about a decade ago. In short, Michael McKubre and
others like him assumed only a pure DC Faradaic current was going into the
cell, with no AC perturbations riding on top of the DC. Leaving out the AC
component at least partially explains why more thermal energy was coming
out than pure DC current going in. An audio VU meter across the terminals
of McKubre's cells would have registered the audio frequency noise power
that he was leaving out of his simplified energy budget model.
