 Dick --
Assuming you use Windows 10 or 11, you can go to Settings (this will look different depending on whether you are in Windows 10 or 11). Find Apps and then find Default Apps. There will be something in the list for Mail. That is currently set up for Firefox 120, which you recently got updated to Firefox 121. (More on this later.)
Changing your default email program on Windows 10:
   - Open the Start menu on your computer. Select the "Settings" option with a gear icon from the list that appears.
   - In the dialog that opens enter "Default apps" in the search bar, and select the "Default apps" option.
   - Find the "Email" heading and click on the current default email, just below the heading.
   - Select the appropriate email program to save that as the default email. In your case, this means selecting your current version of Firefox.

If choosing Firefox 121 for the Default Program for Mail does not work, you might try to download the current Firefox installer and just run it to reinstall Firefox. This should restore the "Open With" associations, including Mail, which Firefox has established. But in your system, the Mail feature in Windows may not be able to connect with Firefox 121. Then you may have to select Microsoft Edge instead.
I hope some of this helps.

 Sorry to bother you all!

I cannot open the browser I normally use and is the one that my email
directs its information to (browser opens when I click the appropriate
item in the email).

I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email, and Mozilla Firebird as my
browser. The error I get is: "XULRunner, Error Platform version '121.0'
is not compatible with minVersion ("greater than" symbol)=120.0.1
maxVersion ("lesser than" symbol)=120.0.1"

I've been using this email/browser combination for years with no
problems. All of a sudden, yesterday this error occurred.

Alternatively, how do I send my email "click" to a different browser
which does work for me; e.g. Edge.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dick
