[Lex Computer & Tech Group/LCTG] Charlie Holbrow

I took Charlie’s short course on the sciences, technologies, and history that resulted in the Atomic Bomb. He was thorough and outstanding at blending history with technical matters.
I also joined Charlie and three others in working through an online Penn State elementary course on Global Warming.  Charlie wanted to know more about the subject than he’d gotten off the internet; he found the course, and used it and interactions with us other “students” as a vehicle to better educate himself (and us!) on the subject.  That’s the kind of man he was.
It might, therefore, not surprise you to learn that Charlie was President of the American Association of Physics Teachers (American Institute of Physics) and a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
On many levels, our Computer Group and those of us who knew Charlie were very fortunate to have interacted with him.  He already is missed.

Charlie and I often chatted before, during, and after the LCTG meetings
about the meeting topics, physics, our families, everything. I am deeply
saddened by his passing, and was so surprised since we had chatted two
weeks before at the meeting. WOW! He will be missed!
