I think the method of defining the parameters for eyeglasses --  as in the
case of most things medical -- are stuck in the past
The way to evaluate your eyesight should be to have a computer generate a
whole bunch of images with your response to each image diagnosing an
increment of ones vision -- after a pleasant? half hour or so --  a very
complete survey of ones vision can be completed in the form of a "video
game"

Te computer can then recommend the prescription which could be ordered
on-line and further recommend that you should see an ophthalmologist if
relevant

This is real opportunity for an entrepreneur although I'm sure the medical
establishment will do everything in their power to prevent it succeeding
