On a lighter note: A friend of mine out in Sunnyvale, CA, who did his
graduate work at Stanford University, shared this with me.

The Stanford Review editor-in-chief conducted a interview
<https://stanfordreview.org/levin-interview/> with the university's new
president, Jonathan Levin.  Towards the end of the extensive,
wide-ranging Q&A came the following exchange:

*Stanford Review:*What is the most important problem in the world right now?

*President Levin:*There's no answer to that question. There are too many
important problems to give you a single answer.

*Stanford Review:*That is an application question that we have to answer
to apply here.

Gotcha!
