[Lex Computer & Tech Group/LCTG] Password Manager

Hi Drew
Thanks for pointing this out.
Here is what I found
“The transition is going to take a while, though, and even when you can use passkeys, it’ll be a while before all your apps and websites let you do so. But Dashlane is trying to help move things along, announcing today that it’s integrating passkeys into its cross-platform password manager. “We said, you know what, our job is to make security simple for users,” says Dashlane CEO JD Sherman, “and this is a great tool to do that. So we should actually be thinking about ushering in this passwordless era.”
Going forward, Dashlane users can start to set up passkeys to log into sites and apps where they previously would have created passwords. And whereas systems like Apple’s upcoming implementation in iOS 16 will often involve taking a picture of a QR code to log in, Dashlane says it can make the process even simpler because it has apps for most platforms and an extension for most browsers. “
I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks again
George

George, looks like you got a lot of good feedback about Dashlane.
I would strongly suggest getting one that says that it currently or is about to supports passkeys. Password managers are slowly being updated to support passkeys which is a new form of authentication.
Bitwarden currently supports passkeys in their browser extension. I have it, use it, and know that it works.
Personally, I'm a KeepassXC user on Windows & Linux, and use KeepassDX on Android. KeepassXC has publicly announced that their next imminent release will include support for passkeys but that does not translate to any Android app. They have to be updated independently.
Many password managers have the ability to import data such as spreadsheet so you need to look at that on a product by product basis. I would dread changing password managers now having to export and import everything. That is sort of why I use two password managers. BidWarden fills in some of the gaps in keypass such as passkeys.
Drew.

I am looking to buy a good Password Manager.
PC Magazine recommends Dashline.
Any recent experience folks want to share?
1. Security
2. Easy to set up
3. Ease to operate
4. Inexpensive
Thanks
George
