Comcast is a reseller for Verizon service so you would still be using the Verizon towers to make your phone calls. You would just be paying Comcast versus Verizon for similar service. If you have the money you can get far superior service directly from Verizon. They have plans with lots of fast data that you can't get from Comcast.

I went a similar route a few years ago. I am a convert from Verizon corporate to visible which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon. My total cellular bill is $ $35 All In and they even have a $25 plan with no extra fees. And I have access to Verizon's Ultra wideband 5G service.

The main reason why I went the route I did rather than going with Comcast was I want to be able to use my phone as a hotspot for data should my Comcast internet service go out and Comcast doesn't offer a reasonable Hotspot data sharing plan.

For those who are frequent International Travelers that need to bring their cell phones with them to Europe for example are best off sticking with Verizon proper because I know for a fact that my company doesn't support using my phone abroad even though it's Verizon.

My POTS line broke a couple months ago and they told me they weren’t supporting or fixing them anymore because they want everyone who has one to move to Internet/IP service. So, is an Internet/IP phone still a “landline” or a “home line”?
