I thought that, overall, this was a wonderful presentation today. It covered a lot of material. I just thought I’d say that I’m a strong proponent of immunizations. In medical school, they bathed us in these ideas. With the Covid vaccine in particular, every time you are exposed to another vaccination, the B cell memory cells get a boost, which can last up to a year. Preventing severe infection and death as well as limiting post-infection problems. A new study came out today that reinforced this:

Study finds COVID-19 vaccines cut risk of post-infection heart failure, blood clots
The Hill <https://mailview.bulletinhealthcare.com/mailview.aspx?m=2024032001ama&r=4756748-4459&l=00c-17b&t=c> (3/19, Irwin) reports, “The COVID-19 vaccine can cut the risk of heart failure and blood clots after a COVID-19 infection, a new study...found.” The study included 10.17 million vaccinated and 10.39 million unvaccinated people. Published in the journal Heart, the research <https://mailview.bulletinhealthcare.com/mailview.aspx?m=2024032001ama&r=4756748-4459&l=00d-6e6&t=c> “found that...getting a vaccine slashes the risk of heart failure up to 55% and blood clots up to 78% after getting sick.” Additionally, “the study found the positive health effects were most significant in the 30 days following a vaccination but can last up to a year.” Researchers “examined people who were vaccinated with Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.”

So Alan and I go out and get shot up every time a new round is available.

Nancy
