Driving on Rt. 128 the other day, I found myself behind a Jeep of the
sort that has its spare tire mounted externally on the tailgate, with a
weatherproof cover.

Usually those covers sport the vehicle make's name or logo, or,
sometimes, the dealer's name or logo. This one, however, was a custom job.

Most of the cover was occupied by a white circle. Around the perimeter
of the circle, top and bottom, was the legend

THIS VEHICLE EQUIPPED WITH

MILLENNIAL ANTI-THEFT DEVICE

And in the circle was a graphic of the 5-speed stick shift pattern, like
you'd find on the shifter knob of a manual transmission vehicle.
