[Lex Computer & Tech Group/LCTG] AI Fakes

I'm not familiar with these resources, but here's what it looks like, from visiting these sites:
DeepFake-o-meter: The site says the tool is free to use, with a caution. This tool is a research prototype, so it may not be as reliable as a full production tool. The service was recently offline, as Kim Komando found out, but it is back online. Perhaps if we have a download of Kim Komando's image, we could submit it to the site and see what it says?

Sightengine: This is a production tool, meant to process images in bulk rapidly. It has a free tier, for up to 2000 images per month (500 per day). We have Kim's result when she submitted her image to this site.

Hive’s AI-generated image detector: Pricing is not discussed at this site. This is a professional production tool, aimed at sites or services which need to moderate content on a large scale in real time. What Kim Komando used was most likely their free demo, which may lack the full features of the paid service.

I haven't used any of these services myself. I also haven't seen the article in which Kim Komando described these services and discussed the results of uploading her image to be tested.

The info below is from today’s Kim Komando newsletter.  She used them on a photo that AI created for her.

·  DeepFake-o-meter: Upload a photo or video, and it’ll scan it with multiple detection models to tell you how fake it might be. I got a “server busy” message testing my princes’ image.

·  Sightengine: A behind-the-scenes powerhouse that spots digital tampering, even if the naked eye can’t. It gave me 99% that the princes were fake.

·  Hive’s AI-generated image detector: Used by major media outlets to tell if that photo of the pope in a Balenciaga jacket is AI (Spoiler: It was). Yup, the princes are 99% AI foolery here, too.

I’ve never used any of these and haven’t checked out prices  but that is my next step (unless one of you does it first)

John
