I've been using the key combination on the Chrome browser for years.

You can hit the key combination several times to restore more tabs.

It survives browser crashes and other harsh events.

For example, sometimes I purposely terminate the browser before shutting 
Windows down. After a reboot, you can start the browser and use the key 
combination to restore the tab sets.
