<div dir="ltr">Not Einstein but almost as famous<div><br></div><div>Prior to COVID I had been volunteering at the Boston MOS for nearly 30 years -- my role was then called Exhibit Hall Interpreter -- we would go into the hall either with a stand alone cart-based "interpretation" of something such as Lenz's Law and magnets or alternatively we would locate adjacent to an exhibit</div><div><br></div><div>One of my favorites was the Cloud Chamber -- and my interpretation was focused not just on the science but on the people whose discoveries provided key steps along the way toward our understanding of the essence of radioactivity and nuclear science</div><div>As part of keeping the interpretation "au courant"--I would search the web for "stuff" connected to the science or the people</div><div>One day I came across the following story</div><div><br></div><div>It seems that a woman in the UK was having a significant birthday and cousin was determined to do something memorable</div><div>The birthday girl was a big fan of the pop star Mariah Carey</div><div>The cousin heard about a new process at a local bakery whereby a picture or text could be 3D printed onto the top of a cake or pie</div><div>The cousin ordered a cake with face of Mariah Carey on top of it for her birthday girl</div><div>The cake arrived the box was opened and the cake was "faced" by the visage of not Mariah Carrey but dual Nobel prize winning Maria Sklowdowska Curie [the only person to ha received a Nobel in Physics and a 2nd in Chemistry]</div><div>Well there things could have stopped -- except this is the Age of Social Media -- someone put the picture with the cake and look of surprize out on facebook or twitter</div><div>That might have been the end of it -- but someone got the "surprise" story with pix out to Mariah Carey</div><div>Once Again -- the story might have ended there-- but Mariah Carrey decided to reward her devoted fan with a tweet [and her pix]</div><div>in her tweet she said: " that could have been me if I hadn't failed remedial math"</div><div><img src="cid:ii_l3ovagqf2" alt="image.png" width="493" height="229"><br></div><div><br></div><div>Great story </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Thu, May 26, 2022 at 3:32 PM Robert Primak <<a href="mailto:bobprimak@yahoo.com" target="_blank">bobprimak@yahoo.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div><div style="font-family:"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><div></div>

It does fit with Einstein's sense of humor.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">By the way, speaking of taking the stage as someone else, I had the experience last Tuesday evening of having to step in at a Zoom Meeting when the real leader of the group became ill at the last minute. The ruse lasted only until one of the regulars recognized that I was not the leader.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Some commented that I had been a better leader than the actual group leader. I told them I'm happy to keep my day job with LCTG. (As a non-leader.)
