Correct, Windows 11 is not a radical change. The
new taskbar is a lot nicer than 10. It's more about Windows 10
being an old, dead end product rather than a radical new
operating system. Some folks upgrade to 11 and don't even know
they did. I don't like having to keep a Windows 10 machine
around, but I need to be able to provide Technical Support for
Windows 10 users, so I'm stuck with one computer running Windows
10.

Personally, I chose to do what I refer to as a
"Clean" upgrade. I blew away Windows 10 from my computer and
reinstalled it using the Microsoft cloud download feature. Then,
I did an immediate Windows 11 upgrade, followed by the
reinstallation of software. All data is stored in the cloud, so
nothing to do there.

If your Windows 11 eligible computer is running a
bit slow because it's a few years old, you might want to
consider doing a clean upgrade as well.

Some say it's a bit more "Mac like".

I also like the new File Explorer. You will have
browser-like "tabs" in File Explorer sometime in
October/November. My beta version of Windows has it now.

Voice recognition is vastly improved thanks to the
acquisition of a company called Nuance. They are the
manufacturers of dragon naturally speaking voice recognition
software.

There are a few features such as File Explorer
tabs that did not make it into the final release of 22H2.
Microsoft has suggested in the rollout notice that they will be
incorporating those missing features into Windows 11 over the
next two months. It will likely be part of the Windows 11 patch
Tuesday in October/November.

There is no harm in updating to 22H2 now. It's
been in testing and pre-release for several months. I've already
applied the update with no ill effects.
