<div><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I just got an alleged Paypal notice, with the correct email address, sent to a weird and obviously not-me address, yet Yahoo Mail delivered it to my Inbox, not even to Spam. The weird address looked like an Outlook.com address, which should not have been allowed to be set up with my Yahoo email address as an original ID or linked account. (So much for Microsoft's allegedly "never been hacked" online security!) </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">The fake email said I had authorized a payment and to log in to my Paypal Account to stop the payment from happening. The link looked in my Chrome Beta browser under Windows 11 as if it was the real Paypal login page. It would NOT have been anything of the sort!</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I did go separately in a cleaned browser (CCleaner or your favorite browser cleaning extension will do the trick) to my actual Paypal account, and there was no activity showing. I called Paypal customer service fraud people to verify and no such activity was happening or had happened in the past 30 days. They asked me to forward the phishing email to their fraud reporting address. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">These phishing emails are getting VERY good at spoofing legitimate sites and login pages. ALWAYS log in DIRECTLY with a CLEAN web browser to your REAL account to verify ANY pending transactions involving that Account. And when in doubt, use the REAL Customer Service phone number or Fraud Reporting number to make sure. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">NEVER trust ANYTHING in an unexpected email, text, visual or voice phone "Notice" from ANYWHERE. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Stay safe out there!</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">-- Bob Primak </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div>
