<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Carl, this is not about that subscription. It is a different, new subscription which is not voluntary, and which bans third-party ink cartridges. The newer HP inkjets will literally brick if not fed on schedule and the genuine HP brand. And customers seem willing to pay in perpetuity for this abuse. Go figure. I guess Microsoft and Netflix have us all well trained. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Rich, it appears from your use of the term "dynamic security" that the 9100 series is in fact part of this ink subscription/firmware update failure issue mentioned in the article(s) I was referencing. That would mean that for George, there is no solution for the problem yet, if ever. There is no one anyone can call for further help. It is a firmware issue, so no third party can help. HP sends me a box of cartridges when their algorithm says I might need one in the near future. Interestingly, the subscription cartridges last at least twice as long as the cartridges you can buy from HP. Perhaps a conversation with a human will get you a link to download an older version of firmware.
