For those of you who use cloud backup services or
sync services, there is a very nice open source program that
will let you create what they refer to as an encrypted vault on
your cloud server. You can put files in there that are hidden
from the cloud provider and anybody else that gains access to
your account. Only your local computers will be able to decrypt
the files.

This software is not specifically or exclusively
for cloud servers. Create an encrypted vault on your local pc
where you can keep sensitive files. For example, I recently
needed to take my computer to a service center, and they
ultimately needed to copy all of my Windows data files from my
old hard drive to a new one. If my sensitive files had not been
in an encrypted vault, they would have had access to that
sensitive information.

The only catch! - The software is completely FREE
on PCs. On Android, and I presume IOS, they want $$ to use the
software. Doesn't really impact me, as I don't need to access
these files on my phone necessarily.
