Thank you all for your suggestions.<div><br></div><div>The problem was removed. Here’s how: After convincing myself that the shut-down of my iPhone wasn’t due to hacking, I finally decided to consult Apple itself. I tried to make an appointment at the Burlington Apple store and was forced online. After rassling with Apple’s site for a while, I admitted defeat and bought my body to the store. </div><div><br></div><div>To my surprise and delight, it was almost devoid of customers, so the agent at the door could give me serious attention. He had me check the iCloud status; it showed that the hitherto automatic $0.99 charge to my credit card had been denied (I’d been fooled by the fact that a $0.99 charge showed as having been paid). Apple never notified me that an automatic payment had been refused.</div><div><br></div><div> I updated the credit card number, and PRESTO my 50 gig iCloud memory allotment was restored (I’d used a measly ~15 gig).</div><div><br></div><div>Most’s well that ends better.<br><br>Thanks, again, folks. I don’t have to toss & turn overnight.</div><div><br></div><div> Mike Alexander<br><br><br><p class="yahoo-quoted-begin" style="font-size: 15px; color: #715FFA; padding-top: 15px; margin-top: 0">On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, 9:49 PM, Drew King (dking65@kingconsulting.us) <dking65@kingconsulting.us> wrote:</p><blockquote class="iosymail"><div id="yiv1961092043"><div><div>I don't know about iCloud Plus but I know that on Google Drive items in your trash still count against your overall storage limit so look at your trash and see if you can empty several gigabytes of data out of the trash can perhaps that'll change the result and look in your app or on the web and see how much it tells you your free storage space is don't just rely on an email message.<br clear="none"></div><div><div class="yiv1961092043k9mail-signature">-- <br clear="none">Drew King<br clear="none"><br clear="none"></div></div><br clear="none"><br clear="none"><div id="yiv1961092043yqt83602" class="yiv1961092043yqt0753222633"><div class="yiv1961092043gmail_quote"><div>On October 25, 2023 9:38:25 AM EDT, Michael Alexander via LCTG <lctg@lists.toku.us> wrote:</div><blockquote style="margin:0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204);padding-left:1ex;" class="yiv1961092043gmail_quote">
Thanks for all your responses.<div><br clear="none"></div><div>For what it’s worth -- I hovered over the address on the email; it gave me apple.com.
