<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Well, I use Linux as my primary operating system.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">With Linux:</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">State of the Art means it doesn't work now and probably never will.</span></span><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Bleeding edge means it needs immediate updating to work at all.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><span style="white-space: unset;">Upstream means probably will crash.</span></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Then we get into alpha, beta and unstable releases.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Finally there's the Stable Release which means it's already so far out of date that half of the software which is supposed to run on it won't. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">I run Debian Stable with a Mint Cinnamon desktop. So I'm in that final category.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">At least it doesn't crash.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">For Windows, I count Windows 11 as somewhere between alpha and beta. And in constant need of updating. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Windows 10 is stable, but about to be put out to pasture. Chromebooks are in this category from the day you buy them.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Apple tends to be more like a Stable Release of Linux.
