<p>Insufficient notice was given by VOIPo. VoIP providers are regulated by the FCC. The FCC mandates procedures including 30 days notice to customers before following other FCC mandates. <p>If I have problems porting the phone number to another vendor, I may have to THREATEN to file a complaint to the FCC.</p>

<p>I am switching to MagicJack. I ordered through <a href="http://walmart.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">walmart.com</a> for $10 off and free next day delivery.</p>
<p>Hopefully the porting process won't be terribly painful. I also will download and/or print recent billing statements and significant activity.</p>
<p>VOIPo was founded in 2006. Recently there have been numerous erroneous billing mistakes. For example, see <a href="https://www.trustpilot.com/review/voipo.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://www.trustpilot.com/review/voipo.com</a> .It is prudent to check your credit card statements and coordinate any refunds (including prepaid service) with them.</p>
<p>This is the second VOIP provider to go out of business on me. Cheap is not always reliable...</p>
