I am running the latest MacOS on an M1 MacBook. The risk of not
upgrading the OS to the latest is that Apple stops shipping security
updates for older versions. I think they usually keep updating the
previous version for a while and every once in a while, you may get
a security update on an earlier version, but just like with iOS,
sometimes there are vulnerabilities that are only fixed if you are
on the latest OS. I think that is a very important factor to
consider.<br>

As for compatibility with older apps, it is a concern. I have a
really old MS Office installed that I keep just in case, but rarely
use it. It does work fine when I do use it. I can't speak about
other applications like Photoshop and MATLAB, but there is a good
chance it will still work.... but don't hold me to that :-)<br>

My system settings is telling me to update to Tahoe.<br

My current system supports a lot of older apps which I
don’t want to upgrade (costs to much). I also like how
my desktop and dock are organized ad displayed. <br

Has anyone upgraded to the Tahoe OS that is currently
being offered by Apple? How stable is it? I presume it
has a lot of AI features. How easy are these to disable?<br

Would you recommend that I upgrade now, or wait a while?<br
