STAPLES copied our family cards and laminated the copy leaving the original for later needs. This was done for no charge as advertised.

I'm in North Carolina and I'm not so sure it would be easy to get a copy of the card. It's much easier to protect the original!

The information there may not be entirely up to date, but MIIS does eventually get the records of all reportable immunizations, including COVID-19.  

 

I have made a couple of copies on durable card stock of my vaccine card.

I had my shots done at a Mass center, they sent the info to my medical portal of my PC. Most likely the distribution  system will improve by the time we need to do this again. Arnie

The problem with getting the card laminated is that if (when?) we need a booster, the card can't be updated. I think a better solution is putting it in a protective sleeve, like these:
