If it really is the Kingston Brand, this one looks genuine. And reasonably priced for its capacity.
That $239.00 2TB Flash Drive looks like the genuine article, but BE AWARE OF A SCAM:
If any Flash Drive (USB Stick) selling for less than $200.00 is being advertised anywhere, it is almost certainly a scam!
If it's a real SSD in an external enclosure, a 2TB external SSD will cost over $150.00. And it still may not have the ability to use the TRIM command (among other shortcomings), since most enclosures lack full UASP support. And many PCs and laptops also lack hardware UASP support in their USB internal buses. The clue is usually that Windows often sees these external drives as Removable Hard Drives, not SSDs. (This does not affect capacity, but it does affect optimizing.)
Here are the details on fake "2TB" Flash Drives:
That 2TB USB scam

In the 2 years since that article was posted nothing has changed. The actual capacity of these flash drives is only 32GB or 64GB. But the sellers of the fakes have engineered the firmware and controllers of these drives to report a higher capacity than the drives actually have. When you "save" to them, the data goes into your own PC's internal drive and never makes it onto the USB Flash Drive.
By the way, in terms of stability and longevity, the hierarchy for rewritable external storage devices is this:
Mechanical Hard Drives offer by far the best long-term data protection.
Followed by genuine SSDs.
Flash Drives use a type of Flash Memory which is less stable and so they should not be relied on for long-term data storage.
SD Cards frequently fail, so don't use them for storage of important data. Transfer their data to other devices as soon as possible.

Hi all,

Is there such a thing as a 2TB SSD flash drive?

I read that SSD is better than HDD and flash drives are more reliable than external hard drives.

so wouldn’t a flash SSD be the best thing to store things on? (other than the pc)

I think this is an example of what they mean?

Am I correct? or am I mixing up terms?

thanks,

denise
