[Lex Computer & Tech Group/LCTG] SSD + flash drive + 2TB

SSD and Flash are synonyms. They use solid state technology
with no (macroscopic) moving parts, where HDDs are hard disk
drives, which use spinning disks with moving heads. A quick
google search
<https://www.google.com/search?q=ssd+vs+hdd+reliability>
about reliability was inconclusive. I do know that SSDs are
limited in how many writes they can take, but otherwise
don't know about comparative reliability.
I have an external 4TB SSD
<https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QV3XGCP/>, and it
works fine. I also have an internal 2TB SSD on my failing
2018 macbook pro (but the SSD isn't what's failing). (I need
lots of storage thanks to my propensity to do multitrack
recordings of my concerts!)
Personally, I choose SSDs for anything portable (because
HDDs are sensitive to impact), for speed (heads don't need
to move), and for anything that will be physically near me
(because SSDs are silent). My basement server has HDDs
because they are much cheaper and higher capacity and I
don't care much about the noise or speed.
