[Lex Computer & Tech Group/LCTG] Windows 11 rollout stats

I have two PCs and a Chromebook. My Chromebook also runs XUbuntu Linux.
My PCs run Windows 11, 22H2. This includes one new PC and one upgrade from Windows 10 21H2. It took some doing, but all which does not function as advertised is Memory Protection in Windows 11 Defender, because Logitech refuses to update their webcam drivers.
I have no issues with any aspect of the Windows 11 user interface. A simple click or right-click at the right spot usually gives me the additional Explorer context menu items which everyone says have "gone missing" in Windows 11. I did move the Taskbar Icons to the left corner and restored the Start Button, none of which needed anything Third Party. I limited Search to the Local Machine. Using Windows Search I can find any program or OS feature I need, and fast. Including Store Apps.
Be aware that I run Linux and have had to contend with Windows, Linux, Android and Chromebook apps, all of which may have crazy interfaces. (Remember when Avast Antivirus had a UI which looked like a pirate ship? Or Real Player with its Boom Box interface?) So maybe I'm not the best test case on usability of a GUI, since I have seen pretty much all the craziness which is out there. Including the DOS and Windows and Linux Command Line Interfaces.
If I don't like something in Linux, i know I can change it, with enough online research (sometimes months of research, but usually less than three hours per major change desired). Then a little trial and error (with BACKUPS!!) and things are usually good to go for my tastes. In Windows I would have to research and evaluate several third party tools or tool kits per major UI change desired -- definitely not fun either!
If you're willing to put in a bit of work upfront, Windows 11 is very easy to learn, and not difficult to adjust to your preferences. No Third Party tools needed, but there are tools out there should you want them.
Overall, I am satisfied with the GUI in Windows 11. It's the security and hardware requirements which have been giving me fits. And costing me money (for hardware upgrades).
BTW, we are past the one-year mark for Windows 11. If it weren't for the hardware barriers and ongoing issues with third party drivers, I would recommmend Windows 11 for every Windows user. And for those not able to upgrade, I seriously suggest trying one of the more Windows-like or Mac-like Linux distros. Try them Live on USB, then decide if it's a switch you can live with.
And one bonus recommendation -- Ventoy!

I have 3 systems, one Win 11 and two Win 10 (too old for Win 11). The Win 11 system is my primary. My main complaint about Win 11 is the crippled taskbar. It may be a personal thing but I could do a lot more with the Win 10 (and Win 7) taskbars than Win 11. Thankfully, a third party app called "StartAllBack" restores all the shortfalls of the taskbar, the start menu and File Manager.

Well,
I maintain 3 computers in all.
1. Windows 10 Production PC.
2. Windows 11 Production PC (Preview edition of 11)
3. Windows 11 Beta PC. (VERY Stable)
No problems running one of each. You can introduce yourself to 11 on one machine at a time.
Either way is OK.
Drew.

As a windows 10 person I have two reasons:
- I always like systems to prove themselves for a “year” before I get involved
- One of my computers will not accept windows 11. When I replace that machine it might be a good idea to do the switch

Very slow rollout.
"By Brian Livingston
One year after the release of Windows 11, the new operating system is being installed by computer users at a much slower adoption rate than was achieved by Windows 10 and other major versions of Microsoft’s core OS.
Counting all versions of Windows running on desktop computers worldwide, Windows 11, with a penetration of 13.6%, has only in the past two months overtaken the users of Windows 7 (10.6%), according to a September 2022 report by Statcounter. Just to state the obvious, the ancient Win7 OS was released by Microsoft way back in 2009.
Meanwhile, good ol’ Windows 10 is still going strong, running on 71.9% of all Windows desktops globally, Statcounter says."
