        is the VERY FIRST OPTION BOX in the entire list of Firefox preferences -

You might try looking at the history menu item to see if there are tabs there that were recently opened. this might help you reconstruct the tabs that you want to have available to you.

Not likely. 

When the Apple Store does anything which resets something, your Firefox sessions can be lost. Even entire profiles. These unless you back them up (Don't ask me how to do this on a Mac) they are most likely gone forever. There may be a backup Firefox Profile, but this would be difficult to restore. 

If there's anything you want to return to later, back everything up before letting anyone fix a computer problem.

I took my MacBook Pro into the Apple store awhile ago and when it was returned I opened up Firefox, my default browser, and my last session was lost. I very much want to restore that session. Do you know if that is possible?
