T-Mobile and AT&T use technology that is more friendly in Europe than Verizon.
A friend of mine here in Sarasota spent several months living in Paris a year ago and came home with enormous Verizon phone bill.
It's ridiculous how much they charge.
I suggested that he get a local plan when he is going to be out of the country for 6 months to a year. The problem is he uses two Factor Authentication for his Banking and you need to be able to receive an SMS text message from some of the banks or you can't get into your account. My bank is like that they don't offer support for authenticator apps that only require internet access. Without my Us phone number I couldn't log into my bank if I were abroad.
