A year ago I switched from Verizon (and previously AT&T) to "Google FI",
mainly to buy a Samsung S23 Ultra for $600 paid over two years with no
interest.
Google Fi is basically T-Mobile, which is sketchy but usable where I live
(rural Riverside County, CA), but spectacularly fast (data) in cities
including Boston, which I visit often.
It's cheaper than Verizon, but the real benefit is overseas. I figure I
saved $240 in two Europe trips last year: free phone and data, with no
speed throttling. Verizon would have charged $10 a day and after 600MB of
data per day cut the speed down to approximately that of a 300-baud modem.
