[Lex Computer & Tech Group/LCTG] Seeking advice on wi-fi problem

*Hello and HNY to all!*


*We have a RCN setup, installed several years ago and all owned by RCN (uh,
Astound):*
** Arris modem, model TM722G.*

** Actiontec MoCA adapter, model ECB2500C.*
** Netgear dual band wireless router, model WNDR4300.*

*But the wi-fi signal doesn't reach parts of our house. So we just bought a
Netgear Nighthawk X4 Wi-fi Mesh Extender. When it's installed, the wi-fi
signal strength is great -- but internet connectivity eventually disappears
everywhere, and only returns when the extender is unplugged.*


*SO:*
*-- Could the Nighthawk extender be incompatible with our router?*
*-- Should we use a different extender? If so, what make/model?*
* -- Should we be getting an extender from RCN? *
* -- Is part of the problem that our RCN setup needs upgrading?*

*     (one reason we rent the setup is that we want to be able to upgrade
easily)*
*-- Other comments?*
