Hi Derek,
Unless you changed something explicitly, I would expect the phone would
use 5G by default. To double check, you can go to Settings -> Cellular
-> Cellular Data Options -> Data Mode. Note, this is on iOS 26, but it
should be similar. You can also see the OS version using Settings ->
General -> About -> iOS Version.
In general, if you are not seeing 5G and you expect to see it, you
should contact your carrier.
