Well, I use Linux as my primary operating system.
With Linux:State of the Art means it doesn't work now and probably never will.
Bleeding edge means it needs immediate updating to work at all.Upstream means probably will crash. Then we get into alpha, beta and unstable releases. Finally there's the Stable Release which means it's already so far out of date that half of the software which is supposed to run on it won't.
I run Debian Stable with a Mint Cinnamon desktop. So I'm in that final category. At least it doesn't crash.
For Windows, I count Windows 11 as somewhere between alpha and beta. And in constant need of updating. Windows 10 is stable, but about to be put out to pasture. Chromebooks are in this category from the day you buy them.Apple tends to be more like a Stable Release of Linux. It just works -- unless it's too out of date to run that app. Android tracks with Apple, but it's much less cool.

All,
I've got a badge that is a perfect complement for your shirt -- I wear it when I'm volunteering at the MOS
it says:
High Tech means it breaks down next week
Cutting Edge means it breaks down this afternoon
result of googling the text and searching for an image
I've always felt that it should have a further extension to say:State of the Art means its already broken -- except if you squeeze certain parts a certain amount
There is also the best definition I've seen for Bleeding Edge:
Bleeding edge technology was one that wasn't ready for the real world and caused more problems than it solved
